The Mission of This Role

As a Retail Sales Associate you are the face of Red-Roxy Quilt Co. Your mission is to make every person who walks through our doors feel welcome, inspired, and supported. Whether you are helping a seasoned quilter pick the perfect border fabric, guiding a beginner toward the right notions, or introducing a maker to their dream sewing machine, you are there to elevate their creative journey.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver Top-Notch Customer Care: Welcome guests warmly, grab them a cup of coffee, answer questions with patience, and offer enthusiastic encouragement on their projects.
Fabric Consultation: Assist customers with color matching, pattern reading, and estimating required fabric yardage. Accurate cutting of fabrics and calculating yardages is a daily must!
Shop Upkeep & Visual Magic: Help keep our shelves stocked and displays looking inspiring. We love a tidy, organized, beautiful shop!
Product & Machine Support: Learn the basics of our inventory, including our BERNINA and bernette machine lines, so you can enthusiastically talk about them with customers.
Point of Sale: Confidently and accurately process customer transactions using our computer system.
Foster Community: Encourage customers to sign up for our clubs, classes, retreats, and celebrate their "Show and Tell" projects.

What We Are Looking For (Competencies)

A Passion for the Craft: A background or interest in quilting, sewing, embroidery, or crafting is highly preferred. Speaking and understanding the language of the makers we serve is key! However we will train the right candidate(s).

Attention to Detail: Precision matters when measuring and cutting fabric, tracking inventory, and handling transactions.
Reliability & Team Spirit: You show up ready to support your teammates and create an excellent environment for our diverse sewing community.
Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for extended periods, move around the shop comfortably, climb a small ladder, and lift up to 40 lbs.
Availability: Flexible schedule of at least 3 days per week including one weekend (Saturday & Sunday) per month.
