Beginner Applique

Friday, September 25th 10 am - 1 pm or Saturday, October 3rd 11 am - 2 pm

Take on the beginner friendly Holiday Tree Pattern with guest instructor Julie Wurzer. Create a quilted wall hanging measuring 6" x 19" once finished. It doesn't scream Christmas, so it can do dual duty as a holiday and winter hanging!

The Holiday Tree is a timeless favorite and scrap friendly, using assorted greens for the tree branches.  A real stash buster. 
It's also a great beginner project to learn to machine applique with large simplified applique shapes. 

Patch Abilities Inc was created by Julie Wurzer in 2004.  It was born in a time when she had lost her job as an Agronomist, her identity, confidence and of course, her mojo. Lucky for her, she refused to succumb to the "poor me mentality" and turned to her creativity to retain what little sanity she had left. To keep occupied, she began designing quilt patterns for her Mom's quilt shop in an effort to move fabric lines that weren't selling well for her.  It was working. The fabrics sold along with these one-of-a-kind patterns. She was asked to publish a pattern for a 6" x 22" wall hanging that her mom had created so many years ago, but never wrote a pattern for it.  As she began writing the instructions, a flood of ideas hit her for other designs fitting this size. Wa-lah!  Patch Abilities patterns were born!
